10 Abduction In A Day In Anambra State – Ozigbo Raises Alarm, Calls Out Gov. Soludo Over Worsening Security Crisis

Valentine Ozigbo has expressed grave concerns over Anambra’s worsening security situation, urging Governor Soludo to take immediate action to address the rampant abductions and restore safety in the state.

Valentine Ozigbo, a prominent political figure, has expressed deep concern over the deteriorating security situation in Anambra State. Drawing a parallel to Chinua Achebe’s novel “No Longer at Ease,” Ozigbo lamented the current state of affairs in the region.

Ozigbo highlighted a series of recent abductions that have terrorized the state, emphasizing the alarming rate at which these incidents are occurring. “From Awka through Ekwulobia to Ihiala, it is the same story of abductions of the state’s citizens,” Ozigbo stated. He described the security architecture in Anambra as having collapsed, noting ten separate abductions in a single day, which occurred across various locations including Ifite Awka, Agulu, Adazi, and Oraukwu Road.

While the state grapples with these security issues, Ozigbo criticized Governor Chukwuma Soludo’s administration for focusing on tax and revenue collection, often targeting market women and drivers. He condemned the recent incident in Awgbu that resulted in multiple fatalities, calling it “disheartening.”

Ozigbo also recalled being maligned by the Governor’s Press Secretary for previously urging the administration to address the security crisis. The Press Secretary had dismissed the concerns, claiming that the insecurity was a normal occurrence everywhere and could only be resolved with decentralized police forces.

Ozigbo’s call to action was clear: “The current situation is dire and demands urgent and immediate action. Let Soludo come off his high horse and apply a SOLUTION. Anambra is broken and needs serious mending.”

In his plea, Ozigbo urged Governor Soludo to take decisive steps to ensure the safety and security of Anambra’s citizens. He stressed that the people of Anambra are tired of excuses and need effective leadership to address the ongoing crisis.
